| About the School
Oreivystės Centras Pilot School (Accreditation Certificate No. LT-01) is the first hot air balloon pilots’ school in Lithuania. About 100 hot air balloon pilots from Lithuania, Latvia, Russia, Ukraine, Germany have graduated the school. Romualdas Bakanauskas, licence No. LA002, is the founder and the main instructor of the School. In 1997 the School was incorporated into Oreivystės centras as Vilnius Ballooning School, and in 2004 as Vilnius Flying School. In 2005 the activities were separated: Vilnius Flying School started to learn flying by ultra light airplanes, and Oreivystės Centras Pilot School – by hot air balloons. In April, 2005 Oreivystės Centras Pilot School was accredited according European Union’s JAR FCL requirements, which confirm, that Oreivystės Centras Pilot School completely fits all requirements of Joint Aviation Authorities (JAA) and Republic of Lithuania and may teach like any other European Hot Air Balloon Pilot School. Since June 2006 all persons after graduating Oreivystės Centras Pilot School and getting pilot’s licence in Lithuania may fly in any JAA (European Union) country.
